Improved service along the Calder Valley

  • New single deck buses on many journeys
  • Increased frequency, with buses every ten minutes
    between Halifax – Hebden Bridge – Todmorden

Other changes

  • Hebden Bridge & Todmorden minibus services no longer operated by First
  • We continue to monitor reliability and punctuality of our services and we’re also changing some timetables to further improve the service we offer.

New improved frequency along the Calder Valley!
Buses now every 10 minutes between Halifax – Hebden Bridge – Todmorden*

Service 590 Halifax – Hebden Bridge – Todmorden – Littleborough – Rochdale

Service 592 Halifax – Hebden Bridge – Todmorden – Portsmouth – Burnley

Service 594 Halifax – Hebden Bridge – Todmorden
Replaced by more journeys on 590

These services will be revised, simplified and improved, with buses running every ten minutes between Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden during the day on Mondays to Saturdays.
Many journeys will be provided by new single deck buses.

Most journeys will run as Service 590. Four buses an hour will terminate in Todmorden, with one journey an hour extending from Todmorden to Rochdale.

One journey every hour will run as Service 592, extending beyond Todmorden to Burnley.

Service 591 will be withdrawn; links between Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge will be provided by the new Hebden Bridge minibus network run by TLC Travel on behalf of Metro.

Service 593; links between Old Town and Hebden Bridge will be provided by the new Hebden Bridge minibus network run by TLC Travel on behalf of Metro.

Service 594 will be replaced by journeys numbered 590, which is the number that will be used
for most journeys between Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden.

First tickets won’t be valid on services to/from Heptonstall and Old Town run by TLC Travel; customers wishing to travel on TLC services and on First services, including the new, improved Calder Valley routes, will need to buy a Metro ticket or pass.

Service 560
Halifax – Sowerby Bridge – Ripponden – Rishworth – Commons

Revised timetable

On Saturdays, journeys from Halifax at 1120, 1220 and 1320, returning from Commons at 1158, 1258 and 1358, will run three minutes earlier throughout.

Service 570
Rastrick – Brighouse – Shelf – Bradford

Service withdrawn

Following a review of this service, due to low usage, it will be withdrawn.

Customers who used this service have alternative facilities on these services:

  • Services 548 and 549 will continue to run between Rastrick and Brighouse
  • Service 571 will continue to run hourly between Brighouse, Lightcliffe, Hipperholme, Shelf and Bradford
  • Service 626 will continue to run between Brighouse and Bentley Avenue

Halifax – Brighouse – Shelf – Bradford

Revised timetable

The journey from Halifax at 0700 on Mondays to Fridays will terminate at Brighouse.

A revised timetable will be introduced to improve reliability.

Hebden Bridge Minibus Network
Services A, B, C, D, E and MetroConnect Flexibus

Services no longer operated by First

These services will no longer be provided by First.

A revised network of services will be run by TLC Travel on behalf of Metro.

First tickets won’t be valid on services run by TLC Travel; customers wishing to travel on TLC services and on First services, including the new, improved Calder Valley routes, will need to buy a Metro ticket or pass.
